An emotive scrapbooking course that will take you on your own personal and artistic journey....
When: October 3-5, 2008 (Friday through Sunday)
Where: The Green Acres Farm Bed & Breakfast - Mount Joy, Pennsylvania
(in Lancaster County)
Are you always the one behind the camera? Do the people that look at your scrapbooks see YOU in them....really see YOU?
Or do they just see the pictures you took of everyone else and not really see the real you?
Will future generations have a record of who you are....the things that make you the person you are?
Many times, we are the historians for our families. We take the pictures. We create the art that is put into our scrapbooks. We tell the stories. But for many of us, there's one key person missing. Ourselves!
This weekend scrapbooking course is focused on putting yourself into your scrapbooks. Into recording the things that make you who you are. The things that make you tick and the things that tick you off. The dreams, hopes, failures, aspirations, flaws, imperfections, triumphs, passions....the things that make you uniquely YOU!
It's time to tell your story.
It's time to leave your legacy.
It's time to dig deep and share your soul.
The "Soulology Project" Course will take you on a journey of discovery and will challenge you to tap into your creative side to share your soul artistically.
This course is limited to 18 students, to allow for a focused and interactive experience. Registration is on a first paid basis.

Professional Photographer - Jennifer Balaska
Jennifer's love for photography was sparked during childhood when she was given a second-hand, 110 camera. She eventually took photography classes in high school & majored in audio-visual technology in college. Over the past 16 years she's used 35mm, medium format, a 4x5 view camera and has created poloroid transfers before adopting digital photography.
After the birth of Natalie, Jennifer left her full-time job to stay at home with her daughter. Natalie was born with a rare genetic kidney disorder and is in and out of the hospital. Jennifer turned her love for portraiture into a way to help support her family. The Family Room's studio is located in their home.
Jennifer is a leading newborn portrait photographer in the Southeast Michigan and is flying in specially for this retreat. Her style is contemporary color and black & white portraiture.
Check out Jen's portfolio on her website: The Family Room Studio
The addition of Jennifer's knowledge and portraiture services to this retreat are priceless. What better way to scrap about yourself than to have a professional photographer right there at the retreat.
Each course attendee will receive a free 5 x7 print from their mini session with Jennifer, which will be printed at a professional photo lab and mailed directly to you after the weekend course.
(Additional files from your session may be purchased. More information on this service is available in the Registration & Confirmation Packet.)
Stay in Style!
Your course package includes your lodging at the beautiful Green Acres Farm Bed & Breakfast in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. (click on the link to view the romantically decorated rooms and grounds)
Your stay will be well looked over by innkeepers Wayne & Yvonne Miller. This gorgeous bed & breakfast sits on an idyllic 150 acre farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, home to the Amish and Mennonite communities.
Wayne and Yvonne will cook us a full farm breakfast both Saturday and Sunday mornings. If you want, you can even help to feed the goats, donkey and sheep....and help to gather the morning's eggs. Weather permitting, we might even get a hayride through the farm and over a covered bridge. Spend your evening either scrapbooking away or sitting on the large porch reading a book.
This course will fall over one of the peak foliage weekends, so the fall colors will be in full color. There are many area attractions if you choose to come a day early or stay a day later. The area is full of historical sites, close by to Hershey (where you can smell the chocolate in the air) and antique shops.
Staying at this beautiful bed & breakfast will be the perfect addition to your already inspiring weekend.
