I've had these pictures hanging around for almost a year now, just waiting to be scrapped. When I took these pictures out the other day, I thought of one of the new stamp sets that were just recently released by Molly Stamps. The new Wings on Things (Big) set. There's also a Wings on Things (Small), which comes with the same wings, but in a petite size, as well as more greeting images that are different than the ones in the Big set. And hey, at the price point they're at, you get a ton of bang for your buck, so you might as well get both! They're great for scrapbooking, but they're also great for card making.
I love using paint on my scrapbook pages. It's a lot of fun experimenting with it. I used some blue metallic acrylic paint that I mixed with a bit of white gesso paint to tone the color down a little. It still left a little bit of shimmer to the paint, but I got the color I wanted. I used a sponge brush (LOVE those things) to swipe paint around the edges of my cardstock. I also swiped some around the top picture. I mounted the top photo on a piece of white cardstock.
To do my title, I stamped the word, "snow," out with Night of Navy craft ink with the Quirky Alphabet set (from Molly Stamps) and embossed them with Iridescent Ice embossing powder to give it some sparkle. I then applied 2-way glue to the insides of the letters and sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The letters are SO sparkly and glittery. Just like snow! I trimmed each of the letters out and then before I mounted the letters onto my cardstock, I painted some silver paint on my cardstock with a sponge brush and let it dry. I mounted the letters on top.
The word, "Angel," was painted free hand with the left over paint that I used on the edges. The wings were stamped on white cardstock with Night of Navy craft ink and then embossed the same way I did the letters. I filled in the inside of the wings with 2-way glue and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I cut them out and mounted them on either side of the word, "Angel," with pop-dots for a little bit of dimension.
The little white snowflakes on the cardstock were hand drawn with a white Signo gel pen. I'm totally digging doodling things like this on my scrapbook pages lately. I couldn't find a snowflake image in my stamp collection that matched the theme of my page so doodling them myself worked well for me.
The journaling was also done with my white gel pen. It reads:
2 feet of snow
2 construction paper wings
1 hand drawn snowman paper mask
1 blonde girl-child
------------------------
= 1 Snow Angel
I used some of my Little Felt Flurries as embellishments on my page. These come as just felt, but I adore snowflakes and love it when they sparkle, so I covered them with 2-way glue (yes, that 2-way glue pen works for practically everything - I LOVE IT!) and then sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. These snowflakes come in different sizes in the package so I used some of each for variety.
Here in Vermont, we've already got snow on the ground. My little snow angel is getting anxious to play in it, but we need to get her some new snow pants and boots, as she's outgrown the pairs she wore last year. In the meantime, I cozy up in my craftroom with chai and cookies and create to my heart's content. I don't like the cold, but I love having the excuse to be inside all day in my studio. :)
Happy Creating!

Erika, such beautiful work and you've given me some ideas, plus of course the urge for me to put on my next order some of that 2-way glue! I love sparkly pages and this page is absolutely divine.

Use a dictionary and grammar guide constantly. Keep a small English dictionary with you at all time. When you see a new word, look it up. Think about the word - use it, in your mind, in a sentence.
