I usually do a One Design - Multiple Card feature but this time around, I thought it would be fun to do a 3-D project instead of a card.
I made these cute little Hershey Kiss holders with new Kitchen Sink Stamps sets.
For the first holder, I used the new 3-Step Pansy set. This set has a lot of possibilities when it comes to the masking technique. There's 2 really cool samples on the back of the package these stamps come in that show how to make a beautiful garden of pansies with simple masking.
Speaking of masking, I used that technique for this project so that the leaves looked like they were setting behind the flower. It's a really easy technique that consists of simply stamping the base stamp of the pansy on a piece of scrap paper and cutting it out, then placing it over the finished pansy image on my cardstock and then stamping the leaves on top of the cardstock, slightly overlapping the flower. Because the flower on the cardstock is "masked" by the scrap paper flower, it's protected and when you pull up the mask, it looks like flower is sitting on top of the leaves. LOVE this technique! So simple, but SO wow!
The steps I used for the flower were:
Flower
Step 1) Bashful Blue (stamped off once on scrap paper)
Step 2) Bashful Blue (fully inked)
Step 3) Perfect Plum (stamped off once on scrap paper)
Step 4) Perfect Plum (fully inked)
Step 5) Elegant Eggplant
Leaves
Step 1) Kiwi Kiss (stamped off once on scrap paper)
Step 2)Kiwi Kiss (fully inked)
Step 3) Old Olives
I used Perfect Plum cardstock for the holder, Baja Breeze for the blue layer and Kiwi Kiss patterned paper from the Urban Garden Designer Series paper pack for the green layer. I punched the pansy out with my Scalloped Circle punch and sponged around the edge with Perfect Plum ink and mounted it on top of a Perfect Plum circle twisted just a tad so that the scallops could be seen behind the top scallops. I wrapped a piece of Old Olive grosgrain ribbon around the patterned paper.
There are 3 Hershey's Kisses adhered inside the holder. I stuck the top closed with a small piece of adhesive and then punched a little handle using the Word Window punch and tied the ends with Old Olive ribbon. I mounted the pansy on top of the patterned paper using pop-dots. I made sure to punch the handle BEFORE mounting the pansy on top because I wouldn't have been to fit the Word Window punch over the top if I had.
For a little extra bling, I adhered a couple of clear Dew Drops with glue dots op either side of the pansy.
For this second Hershey Kiss Holder, I used the same design as I did with the first one but changed out the colors and the stamp set.
I used the new 3-Step School Days set and added the "thanks" image at the top. This little holder makes a really sweet teacher's gift and your kids can even help you make them!
I used Riding Hood Red cardstock for the holder, Baja Breeze for the blue layer (and the bottom Scalloped punch) and striped patterned paper from the Summer Picnic Designer Series paper for the green layer. I used Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon and dark orange Dew Drops on either side of the apple.
Here are the steps I used for the apple:
Apple
Step 1) Cameo Coral (stamped off once on scrap paper)
Step 2) Cameo Coral (fully inked)
Step 3) Ruby Red (stamped off once on scrap paper)
Step 4) Ruby Red (fully inked)
Leaf
Step 1) Kiwi Kiss (stamped off once on scrap paper)
Step 2) Kiwi Kiss (fully inked)
Happy Creating!

Your Hershy Kisses boxes came out awesome. I love how you masked the leaves on the box with the pansy. It is so pretty. Leave it to you to make the box hold chocolate. :)
