Apparently I scared a few of you with the new picture of myself in my side bar at the top of my blog. It seems that some of you are very attached to my dreads. :) I got some emails telling me that my picture was nice but asked if I'd cut off my dreads.
Nope.....they're still there. I have no plans on getting rid of them any time soon. They're still firmly attached to my head.
I clean up pretty good, don't I? *wink*
I just had them tied back for the photo you see at the top of my blog. When you look at that picture, it hardly looks like I have them, but I assure you they're there.
<--- This picture was taken on the same day (a very warm day....unlike the cold and wet ones we've been having lately) See? There they are!
I have loose fly-away hair mixed in with my dreads and eventually (or so I tell myself), I'll get the roots some maintenance and have the loose hair hooked in. Who knows.....we'll see. I like the look of having dreads and fly-aways going on, which is probably why I haven't done anything about it. Hard to believe that they've come up on their 20 month birthday today. It hardly seems possible that they were created almost 2 years ago.
It also seems hardly possible, but yes, I really am top-heavy! haha!
We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow......we're adding a new member to the family. We'll be picking him up at the airport tomorrow night.
Have a great night and a wonderful weekend!

Well, I think your picture is beautiful. I love that you tie your dreads back once in awhile. Safe trip to the airport tomorrow.

The Blonde Dreads Look Great!! My 9 year old has been growing his mohawk for almost a year. Its about 2 inches wide and 7 inches long. We have trimed it a few times. His hair is really thick, we don't stand it up often, but it really is a great part of his personality. It's great to watch the changes with your dreads. Can't wait to meet the newest member of your family. Hugs and blessings, Lourin

Nice locks, nice pics, and nice job on the recent creations on your blog. I love the fact that you do the Bake it, Make it, and Take it... that is a very interesting part of your blog! Good luck with your trip!

I realize this blog entry is over a year old, but I just wanted to let you know that you've set my mind at ease at getting dreads today! I've been researching them for about 3 months and today is the day! I've been a little nervous, being that I'm a little older (34) and a mom of 2 kids. And, like you, I have a child with special needs. Our son was born with 1/2 a heart & has had 2 open heart surgeries. I've wondered what type of reflection me having dreads might be on him, but I feel very comfortable now "meeting" you online and in similar situations. We, too, love to camp, although we do have the modern conveniences of a camper - we have to have air conditioning for our son. But still, love being outdoors and sitting by the fire, swimming in lakes and kayaking rivers. I love your dreads and am anxious to see what is going to happen over the next few months with the mess of tangles! But that is a reflection of my life in a way, might as well have the hair style to go with it! I'm so glad that I did some last research and found you and your dread journey! Love your blog and all your great handmade items.
