When I typed out the title for this post, I laughed at it. It sounds like if you want to have a baby but not go through the 9 months of pregnancy and the pain of labor, you can just get one to-go. Like take-out. haha!
But that's totally not what I meant.
When I posted the Valentine's Take-Out box, I mentioned that I had also bought a pink take-out box. I finally got a chance to play with it today.
When I showed my red take-out box to my friend, Jen, she started brain storming ways that I could decorate another one....and the occasions that this could work for. Really, these take-out boxes can work for SO many things. The idea Jen came up with, though, was to do a baby themed box. I ran with that idea today. Jen truly is my "muse." She may not stamp or papercraft, but dang, that girl and I make a great team when it comes to brainstorming. I love it when she gives me ideas and then I create them....and she loves it, too.
This box is such a soft color of pink. So delicate. It seemed perfect for a baby girl themed box. Oh, by the way, the tag on the bottom of these boxes say that these boxes are made by Westrim Cratfs. Just in case some of you are looking for some to purchase.
As I did with the Valentine's box, I stamped my images with Versamark ink and then embossed them with white embossing powder. I used GinaK's new stork image from the How Sweet It Is! set. This is the set that Gina created to raise funds for diabetes research. $7 from each set goes towards two wonderful diabetes charities.
The greeting that I used for this box also came from that same set. I used the Mega Marvy Heart Punch for my tag. I wanted to add a bit more "bling" to it so I used up some ribbon scraps I had and stapled them all around the heart.
I used a bunch more ribbon scraps and dolled up the handle, as well.
Can you believe that I used to NOT be a fan of staples on paper crafting projects? And I also used to NOT be a fan of all those knotted ribbons on handles. Now I can't get enough of them. They add such a splash of color and look so fun on projects.
I tried hanging the tag on the handle from one side of the heart but didn't like the way it dangled on it's side. I punched another hole in the other side of the heart and tied it to the handle and I liked it much better that way. It hung right and the ribbon ends added to the rest of the ribbons on the handle.
I thought that the box didn't look finished enough with just the storks on it, so out came the little Prima flowers. Yes, I hoard those, too. *hangs head in mock shame* I went all out and used a whole 17 of them (PLUS 17 mini silver brads) on this project! I went all out! I stuck them all to the box with mini glue dots. So easy and quick.
And just like I did with the Valentine's Take-out box, I stamped some white tissue paper to match the box.
It may be a small box but there's quite a bit that you can fit in here for a gift for a new mom or new baby.
* gift cards to baby stores or self-indulgent stores like Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret (no, they don't sell nursing bras, but they do sell all kind of fun undies, bath products and lotions), Starbucks, etc.
* gift certificates for a day-spa or a local restaurant for mommy and daddy to have a special night out, to the local movie theater or Blockbuster
* your own hand made coupons for things like a night's homemade meal, a night of babysitting so the new parents can get a few hours out, a day of house cleaning, etc.
* little baby goodies such as booties, socks, teething gel, pacifiers, air freshener or candles (because diaper changes are stinky), bibs, small bottles of baby soap, lotion, powder and shampoo, etc.
Or even MORE adorable.....you could STAMP your own gift to put inside!
How absolutely cute is a hand stamped onesie! Craft ink works perfectly for these....just make sure that you heat set the ink (a quick toss in the dryer on high for about 15 minutes will do....or run an iron back and forth over the image for a while) before giving it away. You don't want that sweet image washing off when it gets its first washing.
Your entire gift and packaging match! Stamped box, stamped tissue paper and stamped onesies!
You can comfortably fit 3 onesies in these take-out boxes. They look nice and snug all rolled up like and egg roll and tucked inside the tissue paper.
Happy Creating!

Awww Erika, this idea/set is SOOOOOO SWEET :) I love the take-out boxes and how you embossed them both in white; striking. And if you love to staple your ribbon and paper, have you acquired//seen one of the decorate staplers with the "enhanced" staples in ~action~? It's a super-affordable item (approx. $13) but the outcome looks like something you'd ""hoard"" LOL .... but we don't know anyone who would admit to "hoarding" now, do we? {{*wink*}}HAHA
Love the Onesie outfit too~~think I'll see if I can fit my puppy into one :) Thanks for your unique creations; great as ALWAYS!*!

I have a question for you? Have you tried washing one of those onesies? I 've read in the Product Guide that white was actually not one of the colors recommended for fabric as it won't stay. However they also list Really Rust and I didn't have an issue with that color. So just wondering if you'd given it a wash to test.
