I love mail days when there's packages in the mail! I love finding that neon pink or yellow card that means something couldn't fit in my post office box. It's always disappointing when you get to the counter and find out they want to give you a free phone book. Blah. And even when I tell the postmaster I don't WANT the phone book, she tells me she has to give it to me anyway because she's required to. She's not allowed to take it back either. So......I come home with my unwanted phone book and then realize that I probably should just keep it and throw the old one in the recycling bin.
Well, today was NOT phone book day. That was last week. Today, I found a neon pink card in my box and exchanged it for an envelope from Maria, at Kitchen Sink Stamps. Inside was one of her newest sets, the Love & Luck set. I didn't have many heart stamps in my collection, so this is perfect for me! I love all the different designs in the hearts....and all the sizes of the hearts in this collection. Not to mention those sweet little clover stamps made out of hearts.
This card is done with the basic Emboss Resist technique. Super simple and super easy. I did this on glossy cardstock to give it a bit of shine and to give the blended colors a softer look.
I stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with clear powder, then sponged Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose ink over the images. I used the same colors of cardstock for the base layer and the layer under the glossy cardstock.
I just got a spool of Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon in, which was perfect timing for this card. At first, I was going to use a piece of white organdy ribbon, but I just wasn't feeling it. Then I remembered that I had a brand new spool of pink ribbon and broke it open. There's just something about a brand new package of well.....anything!
A quick double knot and trimmed ends (because I'm just so darn good at those *wink*) and the ribbon was a great touch. I held up the white organdy ribbon to the card, just to see the comparison and WOW. The pink was just what it needed.
I used a chipboard circle as my embellishment and covered it with Pretty in Pink cardstock, then stamped the solid heart from the Love & Luck set with Regal Rose ink. The "loves me" image is also from the same set (and there's also a "loves me not" stamp...how cute is THAT?) and I stamped that over the heart with Purely Pomegranate ink. The chipboard was adhered to the card with, yes, you guessed it....pop-dots. Because I'm just a pop-dot kind of girl. :)
Enjoy your evening!
Happy Creating!

Funny you mentions phone books! We just got a new one and threw 2 old ones out! How many phone books does 1 house need? Especially , local phone books...
I don't have any glossy cardstock, guess I better go looking for some! Thanks!

What a cutie-patootie card, Erika! And I SO want to attend your scrap retreat...have to talk to the hubby about it first as we have 3 little kids (and another on the way, I just found out!). I love the color combination you used for this card, too.
