I enjoyed making the card in YESTERDAY'S POST using the Ginger Blossom Designer Series paper, so I decided to use another pack of papers that I got recently using the same design.
For this card, I used the new Berry Bliss Designer Series paper. I am SO in love with this paper.
Let me tell you a secret. I have a bunch of retired paper from YEARS ago....because I simply couldn't bear to part with it all. In the past, I would get new paper and just adored looking at it all safe in its packaging. It was just too pretty to take out and use. I couldn't bear to cut into it. Even more frightening was the thought that the paper would retire and I wouldn't be able to get any more later on. THEN what was I going to do??? I'm happy to say that I've grown up over the years......well, maybe not really grown up, but learned to let go more. After all, what fun is growing up? The young at heart definitely have a lot more fun. :)
Everything about this card was CASEd from myself. Speaking of CASEing.....I don't usually CASE anyone. For pretty much the same reason that I don't look at papercrafting magazines when I create. I find that working on my own allows for more creative freedom. Now....that's not to say that CASEing is wrong. It just doesn't work for me. For some people, it gives them more freedom. For me, it inhibits me. We're all different in our approaches to creating. The one thing I DO find myself CASEing is myself, though. I love to try different spin-offs from the creations I've made. I really like to see what a difference paper, colors, inks, embellishments, etc. would make from one card to the next while still using the same design.
That's what I attempted to do with this card. The design concept is the same, the dimensions of all the paper is the same. Even the punches I used for the embellishment are the same. I just switched around the colors of cardstock, the patterned paper and the ribbon color.
Tomorrow will be back to your regularly scheduled stamping program. *wink* I picked up some really cute red and pink take-out boxes that I have big plans for.
Happy Creating!

MMM Yummy! Love that berry bliss paper :) Can't wait to make some non-stamping cards myself! What do you think of rub-ons? I've been adding them as a greeting on my cards... more non-stamping accessories to love!

Hi Erika .... the patterned paper you used in your last two "stampless" posts is darling; I especially like the pink and brown combination :)
On a personal note, I too save and hoard all my favorite stampin stuff, and keep thinking that one day there will be this ultimate card or scrap page I'll need to make, and I'll just HAVE to pull out all my BESTest of Best and use it. Of course in the real world, that is never going to happen, so I finally decided to stop "saving" stuff and enjoy it and use it when I want to and when I have it :) Afterall, what is the point of having beautiful things if you can't share them with friends and loved ones.

These "non-stamping" cards are wonderful and take advantage of the beautiful DP that is available. I appreciate your artistic eye in bringing the patterns together. That is not a given with all of us! Thanks for sharing and adding another tool for our papercrafting idea box.

I love the last couple cards. I love to take one card and do it over & over in different colors, or different papers, and embellishments too - I love color.

Oh, I just love your comments about CASEing. I look at the SU! catalog for inspiration long before I look at any of the magazines. I don't know that I've ever CASEd anything completely, though I have been inspired by a layout concept or a technique. I have too much much fun just playing. So that it is almost impossible for me to CASE myself -- making 6 cards for a swap that match? I don't think I have ever done that! 6 with a similar theme and set of stamps? Maybe. 6 alike? NEVER. LOL.
And about hoarding all those wonderful supplies that just might retire and then I won't be able to get anymore of it or that were lucky one-off finds somewhere that then become so "precious" they can't be used ... could you post (sometime when you actually have a few minutes of free time) how you overcame that "fear"?

Case'ing.. Thats a funny topic. I am a terrible Case'er ... I try to case, but I find I don't have some ingredient needed to make and exact copy. So, then I substitute something for something else and then i pick up something else that I think goes with the something I have replaced and Viola'!!! .. My cased card now looks NOTHING like the card It's supposably cased after ..... (dot dot dot ...dot) EXCEPT Your cards.. I have sucessfully Cased You! Only you! and It no longer surprises me since you and I tend to like the same colors, stamps and papers ... So, it's easy to case projects that are right up this girls alley :)
Thanks for the awesome inspiration you have given me.
Psssst.. can't wait to get my hands on this paper It's in my TOP 3 for this SU Catty .
Hugs,
