I'm not sure now if I should have made this card today. I was so excited about the cute reindeer that I made and my husband just got home from going out to pick up a free pool (billiards) table (gotta love Freecycle!) and told me that he hit a deer on the way home. Thank goodness he was keeping a keen eye out and was able to put his brakes on and gauge where the doe was heading and get out of the way enough to only clip it in the back legs. I feel so bad for the poor deer (hopefully she's okay....she ran away), but I'm very glad my Davy wasn't hurt. There is NO way I'm making a card with a cow on it tomorrow! *wink* We have way too many of those around these parts.
I used watercolor paper for the images (both from GinaK's new Fall and Winter line of stamps) and watercolored with my ink pads and a paint brush. I cut around the images and then popped them up off the card with pop-dots. The snow is also made from watercolor paper, which was hand torn.
It's hard to see at the top of the card, but there are cute little snowflake stamps along the top of the Bashful Blue cardstock. I used the Snowflakes stamp from GinaK with Whisper White craft ink. It's subtle, but they're there.
I remembered that I had a little tube of white Liquid Applique in my bin and knew that it would be a perfect addition to the sign (with the snow resting on the sign), to embellish the snowflakes along the top of the card and the watercolor paper turned snow along the bottom of the card. This stuff is really easy to use. You just apply it with the little tip of the applicator and the heat it with your embossing gun. It puffs up and gives a really cool dimensional look.
The "Be Merry" image is also from GinaK Designs.
Speaking of GinaK....she's got a brand new release coming out on November 1st! She's also having a pre-release party over on the GinaK forum at SplitCoast Stampers at 10 pm (CST) on Halloween evening!
Have a fantastic week!
Happy Creating!

What a fun card, and I JUST ordered some Liquid Appliqué from a friend who is a TAC demo. I've never used it before but this card makes me super anxious to get it. TFS!

Just think of it as a card to pay respect to the deer, weather or not she made it! It is a great card with Gina K's images! Love the texture and Liquid Applique, a must have for winter cards! I like to sprinkle glitter on mine too!
