I've had many of you asking to see more projects made from the Simply Scrappin' Kits that Stampin' Up offers. And many of you have asked to see projects that are NOT scrapbook pages....to see how you can use these kits for so much more than scrapbooking.
Now.....don't get me wrong. I LOVE scrapbooking! I've been scrapbooking longer than I've been stamping. It's just that when I look at these kits, I see SO much more creative potential in these kits than just scrapbook pages.
In all honesty, I'm not a scrapbooking "kit" kind of girl. I like to use all kinds of things on my scrapbooks and even though I adore coordinating products, I just don't gravitate towards kits for the purpose of scrapbooking with them.
I love these kits because there's SO much that you can do with them outside of scrapbooking BECAUSE of the coordinating products.
This card was made using the Winter Bright Simply Scrappin' Kit. Who knew Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Wild Wasabi and Bashful Blue could pass as holiday/winter colors. But they do! They give holiday projects a really nice face lift from the traditional (and sometimes tired) bright red and green.
Everything it took to make this card came from the Winter Bright Kit....except for the ribbon. (I used Real Red grosgrain ribbon.) But if I know us stampers well enough, we've all got PLENTY of ribbon hanging around that we could use......and who's to say that we EVER have enough ribbon?!?!
This card didn't use ANY stamps. Yes, you read that right. No stamps! Every now and then, it's nice to go back to the basics and create a card without getting my fingers inky (no worries, though, my fingers will be screaming for ink tomorrow).
I had a downline training event today and the girls and I prepared for each of us to make 9 projects from this kit (and only ONE of those projects was actually a scrapbook page and only ONE of those projects was actually a card) and we STILL had a ton of supplies left to take home to keep creating with. And the projects that we made weren't conservative projects supply-wise. We did gift packaging, wallet cards, 2 different types of books and a chocolate sleeve. And the projects that we did at the event didn't include any stamping. We used the awesome cardstock stickers that are included in the kit! They were perfect for what we were creating!
It's really amazing how much you can do with these kits! Just when you thought you made a ton of stuff from it already, you STILL have more supplies to work with.
If you want to check out another project I created from a Simply Scrappin' Kit, make sure you check out my Secret Garden Paper Bag Book. LOVE LOVE LOVE these kits!
Have a wonderful weekend all! Make sure you don't miss out on the AWESOME Groovy Give-Away I have going on right now.....FREE STAMPS to the winner! :)
Happy Creating!

Well, Its after midnight.. so technicaly you could say it's morning :)Normaly thats when I get to read your blog. First one I look at actualy!!
I just think these cards are darling. I always take a simply scrappin kit with me to a workshop. If there are any Brand new people there, With out any planning, I take the supplies out and while talking to them about the weather or the color of papers etc.. I pass one of the die sheets around the table and I put together a double 12x12 layout and one card. With out the use of a single stamp. I offer it up as a booking incentive and have landed a booking here and there, with this handy item.
I don't use them myself for many scrapbook pages, but I do love to have the variety of printed papers and the freedom to make a quick stick and go card or page.
Thanks for sharing the flexibility of these kits.
Hugs, Lourin

You certainly did make a very beautiful card using the scrappin kit by SU. I made several cards using the scrappin kits from the older catalog. I have yet to order one of the sets but I will. Thank you for sharing your very pretty card Erika.
