I just got a box full of fun stuff from GinaK Designs yesterday. She sent those of us on the Design Team our goodies for the month of January and I can't wait to show them off to you!
I finally got a quick moment to put a card together this afternoon. I really had to think outside the box for this one, as my style usually swings towards distressed, earthy, textured, artistic, etc. This card is so different for me, but I found that it went together so quickly, despite me having to think outside the box. It's funny....I never really considered myself as having a style until I started my blog and people started labeling my style. The more I thought about it, though, the more I realized I DID have a style. :)
Anyway.....Gina is SUCH a doll to work with. She sent a LOVELY holiday gift and in that gift was......THE SCALLOPED OVAL GIGA PUNCH !!!!! These are hard to come by in stores and online these days and I have one now!!! That excited me to no end! (THANKS GINA!)
I started my card off with Pretty in Pink cardstock and stamped the Country Hearts Plaid Background on Whisper White cardstock with Real Red ink. I used a stamping sponge to sponge red ink around the edges of the white cardstock and mounted it on my Pretty in Pink cardbase.
I cut a strip of Pretty in Pink cardstock and tied 3 pieces of Light Pink grosgrain ribbon around it with double knots. I then mounted the strip across my background with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I stamped the cute Mousey Friends stamps (they're abso-freakin'-lutely ADORABLE!) on Whisper White cardstock with Basic Black ink. I colored them in with my Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens for a soft watercolored look. I cut my mousey friends out in an oval shape using my Coluzzle Cutting System , sponged some Real Red ink around the edges and then mounted them on top of a Real Red cardstock scalloped oval.....using my NEW punch from Gina! (you can check out her site at StampingFreak.com .....she has an awesome sale going on with those punches right now!)
I used my White Gel Pen to make the little white dots on my scalloped cardstock and mounted this on top of the pink strip with more Stampin' Dimensionals.
To finish it off, I stamped the "Feelin' Lucky?" stamp on Whisper White cardstock with Basic Black ink, sponged around it with Real Red ink and mounted it on top of Pretty in Pink cardstock. I mounted this on my card with more Stampin' Dimensional (LOVE those things!).
The little mouseys are so cute and that little girl mousey with the raised eyebrows looks like she's asking the boy mousey, "Hey, you.....Feelin' Lucky?" :) I couldn't help it. ;)
Keep an eye out this week for a new Groovy Give-away! Feelin' lucky? ;)
Happy Creating!

Man...I really want that punch! It is so hard to find in Canada unless you order it from the USA and pay through the nose for it :( I am slowly wearing down though, lol.....
