Okay, I'm supposed to be saving the paper from the Loves Me paper pack for my Stamp Camp coming up in February, but I just couldn't help myself. I justified it by telling myself that this particular paper on this project isn't in the plans for my stamp camp, so it's okay to use it. Well, one of the papers isn't for me to use, but I just HAD to. This paper is like an addiction!
I hardly ever use Taken with Teal cardstock but this paper matches it so well that I dug out a piece and went at it. :)
I stamped the Taken with Teal cardbase with the small dot stamp from the Riveting set (Level 1 Hostess set) with Taken with Teal ink. I swiped around the edges of the cardfront with the pad to give it a distressed and textured look.
I cut a strip of Pixie Pink cardstock and swiped the edges with my Regal Rose ink and mounted that on my cardfront.
I cut a strip of the polka dotted patterned paper from the Loves Me Double-Sided Designer Series paper pack and sanded the edges with fine-grade sandpaper, then mounted that on my Pixie Pink cardstock.
For the accent piece, I inked up the "For You With Love" stamp (from the Riveting set) with Basic Brown ink, then used a baby wipe to CAREFULLY wipe away the Basic Brown ink from the heart on the stamp. I then used my Pixie Pink Stampin' Write Marker to color the heart on the stamp. I then stamped this image on Whisper White cardstock. I punched the image out with my 1 3/8 inch circle punch and carefully swiped my Regal Rose ink around the edges of the punched out image. I punched a hole in each of the little dots on this stamp with my 1/16 inch hole punch and put light pink brads through the holes.
I traced around a 1 3/4 inch round Bazzill Chip onto a piece of pink polka-dotted patterned paper and cut it out. I adhered this to my chipboard circle, trimmed the excess off and sanded the edges with fine-grade sandpaper. I adhered my "For You With Love" accent to the covered chipboard circle using Stampin' Dimensionals.
I cut a piece of the brown striped patterned paper from the Loves Me pack and sanded the edges, then mounted it on top of a piece of Close to Cocoa cardstock that I had swiped with Basic Brown ink. This all got mounted on top of my cardfront.
I tied a piece of Light Pink Grosgrain Ribbon around my cardfront and finished it with a double knot. I cut two small pieces of White Grosgrain Ribbon and dyed each with Taken with Teal and Basic Brown ink. I did this by holding down the ribbon against my ink pad and running the ribbon under my finger. I did this 3 or 4 times on both sides of the ribbon until I achieved the shade I wanted. Perfect match every time! I then tied these small pieces around the bottom portion of my pink ribbon with double knots and trimmed the ends.
Happy Creating!
