Pick a scrap....any scrap....and make a card!

Friendship2_2I know I've been horrible with keeping up with my personal blog: SunshineMama, but I'm getting back into posting. I just updated there a couple days ago with some new pictures and I have some more going up this week. Enjoy!

About a week or so ago, I was messing around with this little metal tag that I had gotten in a free card making kit over a year ago. You all know how much of a hoarder I am with supplies, paper, embellishments, etc. Well, like I said, I got this card making kit as a freebie in the mail over a year ago. I haven't opened it until just a week ago.

I really liked this little metal tag and had planned to use it on another card, but after I put the gingham ribbon on it, I wasn't really sure about using it on the project that I was working on. I put it aside to use at another time and tonight was that night.

I LOVE using pieces of cardstock that I don't have to prep. They're pieces that have been cut off of bigger pieces of cardstock and put back into the file of cardstock. I've really gotten into just reaching into that file and pulling out a piece of cardstock and creating a card base out of it. You'd be surprised all the cute sizes you can come up with.

This card measures 3 x 4 1/4 inches. It's a great size and one I've never tried before...but that's the best thing about pulling random sized pieces of cardstock out of my files!

For this card, I used Pretty in Pink cardstock, but at 3 x 8 1/2 and I folded it in half to have a completed size of 3 x 4 1/4 inches. I stamped the leaf from the Bodacious Bouquet set on the cardstock with Pretty in Pink ink. I stamped the word, "friendship," (from the Wonderful Words set) across the bottom of the card with Basic Black ink.

Friendship_2 I used some wide pink grosgrain ribbon to put across the card and then adhered a piece of black gingham ribbon across it.

For the metal tag, besides the little pieces of pink and black gingham ribbon that I had tied onto it, I layered pink and burgandy primas together with a black brad and adhered that to the tag with Glue Dots. I then adhered the tag on top of the ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals (aka: Pop-dots) to give it some dimension.

I just LOVE this little card! And to think that I was never a "pink" kind of girl! :)

Happy Creating!
