The Inspiration Mosaic stamp set (by Melanie Muenchinger) has been one of the most popular sets at GinaK Designs during this current release. I can't believe the amount of versatility this set has. When I look at what Melanie has done with this set on her blog, I'm blown away each and every time....not to mention what all the Design Team Members have done with it, too!
I started my card off with a base of Chocolate Kiss cardstock, then added a layer of the new Green Apple cardstock. I then brayered a piece of glossy white cardstock with a Kaleidacolor pad (Cappuccino pad).
Here's a little secret....I had cut the glossy white cardstock to the size that I wanted, thinking that it would fit the big mosaic stamp from this set and when I stamped it, I realized that I had cut the cardstock just a tad too small and part of the top of the image was cut off. Not much but just enough. That's when I decided to improvise. Remember...there's no mistake in stamping, only changes in design.
I cut along the top right corner and then followed the lines of the blocks and then down around the sides and got something completely unique looking. I added the greeting from the Inspiration Mosaic set and then stamped some of the bare tree cluster from the Tree Silouhette set along the bottom. The colors of the brayering and the trees reminded me of a fall sunset, which is why I used the greeting from the Inspiration Mosaic set about the sunrise and sunset. The mosaic makes me feel like I'm looking out some windows at a cool, crisp fall sunset.
