Today marks Day 1 of another exciting GinaK Designs release! And this release has 7 NEW STAMP SETS and one NEW cardstock color!
From today through Thursday, you'll be seeing a sneak peek of all the new sets right here on my blog and on the blogs of my fellow design team members and on GinaK's blog, as well.
And don't forget the amazing release parties that Gina and the Team hosts for each of these releases. That will take place on Thursday night over at the SCS Member Company Forum so stay turned for details as the week goes on!
Today's two sneak peeks are sets from a couple of Gina's amazing illustrators: Rupa Shevde and Melanie Muenchinger.
This first card you see here is made with Rupa's new set called, "Guiding Light." If you've been looking for a nautical set with one of the most beautiful lighthouses I've seen in a long time in rubber, THIS set is for you! Not only is it great for Father's Day, which will be here before you know it, but also for great masculine cards and scrapbook pages.
I used a very basic approach to this card and some muted ocean colors. My base cardstock is Kraft. I then used a piece of So Saffron for the layer on top of the card. I tore a piece of Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze for the waves. The rock was done by tearing a piece of Kraft cardstock. I stamped the anchor on a piece of River Rock cardstock with Basic Brown ink and cut that out with my precision tip scissors (LOVE those scissors for things with detailed cutting required).
The greeting (which is one of my favorite quotes to use on a Father's day card) was done with Basic Brown ink, as well. I secured 3 copper brads (from the Floral Frenzy kit) above the greeting. I used a little bit of natrual colored Magic Mesh (which is self-adhesive - mmmmm....love!) in the corners. They remind me of old fisherman's nets.
This next card is made with Melanie Muenchinger's newest set (which is part of her amazing & popular Tee line of stamps), "Wee Tees." This set has 67 images so that you can mix and match to create hundreds of combinations.
I started off with a Real Red cardstock base and layered a piece of Black Onyx cardstock (from GinaK) and then a piece of Real Red patterned paper (Stampin' UP). I tied a piece of each black and red gingham ribbon around the black/patterned paper and tied with a double knot.
The "congratulations" greeting came from the Tag Lines stamp set (also GinaK) with black ink.
I stamped he onesie on a piece of white cardstock and then stamped the ladybug image with the "Lady" underneath. This is intended to be one stamp but you could trim them as two stamps if you like. The "Little" above the ladybug is actually part of a stamp image that says "Little Angel" with a halo in between the words. I trimmed the "Little" as a separate stamp so that I could have more opportunities to use it without needing to use a marker to "omit" the other images. It also makes it easier to stamp with when using it with other images.
I colored the onesie in with Copic Markers and added a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the ladybug for some shine.
I know that with all the friends that I have expecting babies right now, this set is going to come in really handy with announcements, baby shower gifts, etc. It's perfect to use in a baby scrabpook, as well!
Make sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team did with these stamp sets and check back again tomorrow for Day 2 of the sneak peeks!
