When GinaK sent me the new stamps from her November 1st release, she also sent along one her new Square window tins. These little guys are so adorable and perfect for fitting all sorts of tiny gifts in. You can put jewelry, candies, candles, gift tags, little gift cards.....heck, I'd even be happy to get one these little tins with some crumpled up green and white papers with pictures of Benjamin Franklin on them. Who says you can't pack a lot into a small package? ;)
I toyed with all sorts of ideas on what to put inside this little tin. I didn't have any spare crumpled up green and white papers with pictures of Benjamin Franklin on them......so I opted for some cute little gift cards.
I used two of Gina's new stamp sets for this project. One the little tag that I made, I used the new Festive Labels set. I stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock with Purely Pomegranate ink, them mounted it on top of Groovy Guava. The new Groovy Guava color is one that I have a hard time using. It's hard for me to find things to pair it with. And then it dawned on me that it goes really well with the other In Colors that Stampin' Up came out with in July of this year. It was a total DUH! moment for me. And wow......just look how nice it goes with Purely Pomegranate and the Wild Wasabi double-stitched grosgrain ribbon. Funny how that works, eh?
The strip of patterned paper that I wrapped around the little tin is actually from the Holiday Harmony double-sided Designer Series paper. Who would have ever thought that "holiday" paper would have a place on something that looks so summery? The Purely Pomegranate color of the paper made it perfect for this project.
I used a couple prima flowers (attached with a gold brad) to dress up the tag and simply adhered it to the top of the tag with a little bit of SNAIL Adhesive.
I punched a hole in the corner of the tag with my 1/8 inch hole punch and threaded the tag onto the single knot of the Wild Wasabi ribbon then knotted it again to secure it. You don't even have to un-knot the ribbon to take it off. It stays on the tin very snugly, but slips right off and on to open and close the tin.
And what's inside this little tin, you ask? Why, little tiny gift cards! They're 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches and there's a total of 8 cards in the tin.
I used my Corner Rounder Punch to round the corners of the cards so that they would fit nicely in the tin.
I used the new Text Messages set from GinaK for these little cards. This set is perfect to use on cards and gifts for teen age girls and girly-girl friends that love girly stuff and their cell phones.
I stamped the images on watercolor paper with my Jet Black Staz-On pad and then watercolored the images with Purely Pomegranate and Groovy Guava ink pads and a paint brush.
The one thing that I realized I should have used on the cards was Dazzling Diamonds glitter. You know, because girly-girls love their bling. I still might go back and add that to the cards simply because I can and because glitter makes everything better. (Unless, of course, it's a card with a chain saw or a toilet on it.....but then again, if the chain saw belongs to a girl, what's wrong with glitter on it.....and I'm sure there are plenty of blinged-out toilets in Hollywood that have glitter on them, right? Or is that just wishful thinking?)
Now, how cute would glitter be if it were added to that adorable little bottle of nail polish and the brush that goes inside of it? I suppose that would be more realistic than glitter on a toilet or a chain saw. But......I obviously digress.
I hope you all have a lovely Monday night.....or what's left to it. :)
Happy Creating!
-Stampin' Mama
