With July 4th right around the corner (and Canada Day is coming up on the 1st and our Canadian neighbors will be using lots of red and white that day), I thought this cute little firecracker stamp (from GinaK Designs) would make a super-quick and fun card.
The finished measurements of this card is 4 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches. Small size to work with but depending on what you use, this small size can pack quite a punch!
I stamped the firecracker image across a strip of Whisper White cardstock with Basic Black ink and then colored the images with my Stampin' Write Markers (Real Red, Ballet Blue and Yo-Yo Yellow).
I then applied some 2-Way Glue to the Yo-Yo Yellow fire-bursts (or whatever those are called) and sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to make them look extra sparkly. This got mounted on a piece of Brilliant Blue cardstock and then mounted onto the Real Red cardbase.
I used a "Hero Arts" mini alphabet set to stamp out, "you light up my life," with Basic Black ink.
To finish off the card, I tied Silver Cord around the card a few times and secured it with a few double knots. The ends of the Silver cord remind me of the fire shooting out of sparklers on a warm summer night.
Have a wonderful weekend and find a way to light up someone's life! It doesn't have to be in some sort of big firecracker way.....even little things go a long way!
