I took out my re-inkers the other day and decided to play with the Frosted Filters Technique that I did the tutorial for on SplitCoast Stampers. Check out the tutorial there to see how to do it. It's VERY easy, though it IS a little messy. Totally worth it, though!
I really love the In the Wild set, especially for masculine cards. The colors I used on this filter were Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip and More Mustard. They lend such a rich and manly look to this card.
My card base is Close to Cocoa, which I swiped along the edges with Chocolate Chip ink. I used Creamy Caramel for the next layer, which I swiped with Creamy Caramel ink.
The easiest way to attach the frosted filter is to put it on a piece of cardstock and then attach that to your project. I put my adhesive on the cardstock itself and then put the filter on top and trim around the edges.
I embossed the giraffe image on Creamy Caramel cardstock with Crystal Clear Embossing powder and then swiped my Chocolate Chip ink over the cardstock. I used a stamping sponge to sponge Chocolate Chip ink over the giraffe and the cardstock to pop out the image and soften the look a little. I mounted that on Creamy Caramel (yes, you guessed it, I swiped that with the same color ink). I tied a few strands of rust colored paper raffia around the front of the card and finished it off with a double knot, then mounted the giraffe over the top.
For the greeting, I stamped the "Birthday Wishes" stamp (from the Sincere Salutations set) on the filter with VersaMark ink, sprinkled Gold Glory embossing powder on it and then embossed it.
It's a good thing I don't like coffee........I have a TON of coffee filters to use and I don't have to share ANY of them with a coffee maker!!! :)
Happy Creating!

Awesome as usual! I really want to give this a try.

Erika,
This card looks so awesome! I printed your tutorial when you first posted it, but have yet to try it. You make me want to do it so badly.............., but at last, I'm at work 9am-5pm.
