I had some time to stamp this afternoon and I really wanted to do something with windows and glitter. I found that the GinaK Birthday Cake stamp fits perfectly in my 1 3/8 inch square punch! PERFECT for popping through some windows!
I stamped this card using the Harlequin Background stamp, but rather than inking it up in one color, I used my Taken with Teal and Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Write Markers and colored each of the diamonds in by alternating marker colors. The turned the stamp rubber side up, breathed on the stamp (also called "huffing"....it gives the moisture back to the ink) and placed my cardfront (Tempting Turquoise cardstock) on the rubber. I then placed a piece of computer paper over the cardfront and rubbed my hand over it to get a clean and crisp background image without getting my fingers all inky.
I stamped the Curly Happy Birthday stamp from GinaK Designs with Taken with Teal ink on Whisper White cardstock and mounted it on Taken with Teal cardstock. That went at the top of my cardfront. The windows were punched with the 1 3/8 inch square punch.
To stamp the cakes, I kept the card closed so that I could stamp through the windows. I mounted a piece of Whisper White cardstock inside the card. I used Basic Black ink and then colored the cakes in with my markers.....Summer Sun, Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise and Pink Passion. After the marker ink dried, I opened up the card, then applied my 2-Way Glue Pen to the flames and the cake, then sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. I stamped the word stamp ("It's your birthday, give a cheer..." from GinaK Designs) above the cakes with Basic Black ink.
For a little extra punch, I tied 3 small pieces of black gingham ribbon on each side of the windows on the ends.
Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend and can find a little time to stamp for fun!
