Okay, so I don't have CBS on my TV, which means I have to wait until tomorrow to watch The Amazing Race online. I just found out about this season yesterday (CBS seemed to sneak this one in on us) and I'm going through the cast interviews tonight and let me just say.......I can't WAIT to see the first episode tomorrow more than any other season I've ever watched. Wanna know why??? BRILLIANT casting on CBS's part! I don't mean the token blonde girls. I don't mean the token cheerleader girls. I'm talking about Margie and Luke.
I saw that they were picked as an early favorite for people before the show even started tonight, but I figured it was just because they were mother and son....kinda of like Toni and Dallas were favorites last season. After watching their cast interview video just now ....I can totally see why! As I started watching it, I thought to myself, "Wow, the mom talks with her hands a lot. It almost looks like sign language." Then the son started with his hands and I thought that maybe he was making fun of her talking with her hands and realized that the son was deaf. What an amazing team they make! I love the concept and I love that he wants to use this experience as a chance to role-model to other deaf people that they can do anything! And as far as strategy? They've got their own language!!! BRILLIANT!
